ANNOUNCEMENT:
Barnard Castle Angling Club open evening - Friday 28th April between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. On the River Tees (just below the Mill at the bottom of the Demesnes in Barnard Castle). Olly Shepherd from Fly Fishing Yorkshire will be giving a fly fishing demonstration, everyone is welcome to come along. If you’re new to the area or are interested in taking up fishing it will be an ideal opportunity to come along and meet members of the club and see some of the fishing we offer. The club is open to anglers of all abilities and allows a number of methods, not just fly fishing for trout, grayling and the occasional salmon. Do I need a fishing License before I can fish?
Yes, you must have a Environmental Agency Rod Licence as well as a BCAClub membership or a day pass to be able to fish on the Barnard Castle section of the Tees . These documents must be with you at all times as surprise checks can be carried out at any time.
Rod Licences come in two different types and which one you need depends on the type of fish your catching:
These licences can also be bought for the whole season for: Adults, Senior (65 or older), Juniors (12 – 16), Children (under 12) As well as Day / Week Passes. HOW DO I ENTER TO WIN A TROPHY?
Trophies can ONLY be won if you have registered your catch with the Club Secretary and had it weighed with them. Please click HERE to go to the trophy page.
